(ANSA) - Rome, February 27 - Foreign Minister Paolo
Gentiloni said Friday that "Italy is ready to do its part in
Libya," but within the context of the measures led by the United
Nations. Gentiloni told the Lower House that the government was
waiting for an international effort in the war-torn North
African nation. "Right now, the game is international", he said.
Italy, like the rest of Europe, has become concerned with gains
in Libya made by Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists who may use the
country as a springboard for attacks in Europe.
