(ANSA) - Rome, January 29 - Premier Matteo Renzi tweeted
praise Thursday for the record of his presidential candidate
Sergio Mattarella. "The fight against the Mafia, (his)
resignation for an ideal, colleges for MPs, the abolition of
military conscription. (Mattarella is) a decent politician,"
Renzi said in the post on his Twitter feed at #Mattarella.
Mattarella was defence minister when Italy abolished the draft,
and resigned over a media law that critics say favoured Silvio
Berlusconi, whose media empire made him Italy's richest man.
