League's Salvini ready to compromise with Renzi on president

(ANSA) - Rome, December 3 - Northern League leader Matteo Salvini said Wednesday his party was ready to compromise with Premier Matteo Renzi on who should replace President Giorgio Napolitano. "The League is ready to support a candidate proposed by Renzi if it's a good one, not someone who's biased," Salvini said. Napolitano, 89, is expected to step down as head of State early in 2015 after reluctantly agreeing to an unprecedented second term to avert a political crisis last year.
