Padoan praises ECB growth commitment

(ANSA) - Rome, November 21 - Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan on Friday said he was pleased with a commitment by European Central Bank (ECB) head Mario Draghi to do whatever is needed to support inflation by encouraging growth in the eurozone. During an interview with Sky News, Padoan said "the real problem" is sluggish growth in the region. Earlier in the day, Draghi said the central bank was ready to expand its bond purchasing programme to combat sluggish eurozone growth if necessary.
