'Reforms in 1,000 hours not days' says Di Maio

(ANSA) - Rome, September 2 - The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) will not return to the government negotiating table on electoral law reform, movement deputy Senate whip Luigi di Maio told ANSA on Tuesday.
"We've said all we had to say," Di Maio stated. The ruling Democratic Party (PD) and its allies "have proven their only counterpart" is former center-right premier Silvio Berlusconi, the MP added.
Also on Tuesday, De Maio blasted Premier Matteo Renzi's 1,000-day reform package.
"The key things must be done in 1,000 hours not days," he claimed.
This means abolishing the IRAP regional business tax, increasing pensions while slashing so-called golden or high-end pensions, and setting up a job-seeking allowance, Di Maio said.
