'Forza Italia will vote against', predicts premier

(ANSA) - Rome, August 29 - Premier Matteo Renzi on Friday again denied claims he was ready to do a deal on justice reform with convicted tax-fraudster and centre-right leader Silvio Berlusconi. Renzi stressed the justice reform to be examined by the cabinet Friday was not in a packet of institutional and Constituional changes, including a new election law and scrapping the Senate in its present form, he had agreed with the Forza Italia chief earlier this year. "Forza Italia will vote against (the justice reform)," he confidently predicted.
Media magnate Berlusconi was ejected from parliament last year after his first-ever definitive conviction, for tax fraud on trading film rights at his Mediaset empire.
He is completing a one-year residual sentence by helping Alzheimer's patients near Milan.
