(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 16 - The 2023 edition of the "Most
Beautiful Sea" guide to seaside resorts in Italy, published
Friday by environment group Legambiente and the Touring Club
Italiano, confirmed Sardinia's lead with seven resorts starting
with the top one, Baunei, in the province of Nuoro.
In all, 21 Italian resorts won the guide's coveted Five Sails
award for cleanliness and sustainability.
Sardinia was followed by Tuscany with 4 locations; Puglia and
Campania both with 3 and Sicily with 2.
Closing the ranking are Basilicata and Calabria, this year's new
entry, which gains a spot with Tropea.
The Five Sails reward "those who have managed to best combine
territories and places of excellence with sustainable
development strategies". (ANSA).
