(ANSA) - Rome, February 5 - Venice's proposed new entry fee
for tourists is "useless and damaging", Tourism Minister Gian
Marco Centinaio said Tuesday.
The proposed fee to enter the lagoon city will be three euros
for all until the end of this year and then six euros for
ordinary days, eight for red letter days and 10 for black letter
days, council sources have said.
Tourists will have to book entry from 2022 to avoid
"complications".
"It's a useless and damaging measure," said Centinaio.
"Do we want to become a tourist-repelling country?"
