Rome tops Italian cities for foreigners

Eternal City popular with Russians, Argentinians, French

(ANSA) - Rome, July 17 - Rome topped Italian cities for the number of foreign visitors in the first six months of the year according to an index drawn up by Hotels.com and published Thursday.
    Venice came in second place, followed by Milan, Florence and Sorrento. Rome was the city of choice particularly for Russian visitors.
    It was also popular with tourists from Argentina, France, Spain and the United States.
    The foreign cities most popular with Italian visitors in the same period were New York, Paris and London.
