Cannavacciuolo gets 3rd Michelin star joining 11 others

Celebrity chef's eatery near Novara gets top accolade

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 9 - Celebrity chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo has got his third Michelin star for his restaurant near Novara in Piedmont, raising to 12 the number of Italian restaurants that have gained the coveted recognition and joined the top rank of world cuisine.
    The Masterchef star won the accolade for his Villa Crespi eatery at Orta San Giulio.
    "Chef Cannavacciuolo puts his heart into his dishes but also a technique, equilibrium and aesthetic precision that are translated into pure emotion for the guest," said the director of the Michelin Italia guide, Sergio Lovrinovich.
    Cannavacciuolo joins 11 other Italian establishments which already have the guide's top mark making a detour worth gourmands' while.
    They are: Piazza Duomo at Alba (Cuneo), Da Vittorio at Brusaporto (Bergamo), St. Hubertuso at San Cassiano (Bolzano), Le Calandre at Rubano (Padua), Dal Pescatore at Canneto sull'Oglio (Mantua), Osteria Francescana at Modena, Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, La Pergola in Roma, Reale at Castel di Sangro (L'Aquila), Mauro Uliassi at Senigallia (Ancona), and Enrico Bartolini at the Mudec in Milan.
    In all, the 68th edition of the Michelin Guide lit up the Italian peninsula with 38 fresh stars. (ANSA).
