(ANSA) - Rome, March 3 - The Italy chapter of the Alliance Against Hunger and Malnutrition (AAHM) on Tuesday called for a nationwide programme for nutrition education in Italian schools to allow pupils and students to develop "the skills needed to make food choices that are healthy, adequate and aware".

The Good School education reform bill that the government is due to present to cabinet later in the day could be an opportunity to "promote nutrition education and an awareness of waste among students", Rosa Maria Di Giorgi of the Senate Education Committee said.
