(ANSA) - Rome, April 30 - A postage stamp honouring the 40th
anniversary of the Giorgio Armani fashion empire was released
Thursday by Italy's industry ministry, officials said.
The stamp, with a face value of 80 euro cents, is part of a
series on the theme of "excellence in the productive and
economic system".
In all, as many as 800,000 copies of the stamp have been
printed by the State Mint while a special first day cover is
being issued with it by the Philately office of the Italian
Posts service.
"Once again, stamp collecting is a formidable vehicle for
promoting creative Italian excellence," said Italian Posts
president Luisa Todini.
"In a difficult period, it is timely to remember that
ingeniousness and capacity for innovation remain among the
important critical factors of success in any type of
enterprise".
