(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 2 - Italian ballet legend Roberto Bolle's
long-awaited Expo Dubai show 'Roberto Bolle and Friends' took
place Wednesday
at the Italian pavilion at the world's fair.
The gala performance was a "compendium of some of the most
exciting dance pieces in the classic and contemporary
repertoire, created by Bolle himself to represent Italian
excellence in this important planetary appointment", said the
pavilion.
The show was initially scheduled for January 6 but was put off
after some of the star's troupe tested positive for COVID ahead
of the departure for the United Arab Emirates.
Bolle, 46, from Casale Monferrato near Alessandria in Piedmont,
is currently a principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre
and a principal dancer e' toile at La Scala Theatre Ballet.
Bolle also dances regularly as a guest artist with the world's
leading companies, including The Royal Ballet, the Mariinsky
Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet.
Bolle said he would not ravel to Russia until the war on Ukraine
was over and "things come back to normal".
As for he show, he said "we wanted to show that our art of being
together with so many different nationalities to speak with
beauty and our hearts is a bit like the fils rouge of this
Italian Pavilion that is wonderful and has an eye on the future
because it unites so many new technologies that interpret
classic beauty but take it into the future". (ANSA).
