'Pride of Naples' Zeudi di Palma crowned Miss Italia

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 14 - Zeudi di Palma, a 20-year-old sociology student and model from Naples, was crowned Miss Italia at the final of the competition in Venice overnight.
    "Congratulations to Zeudi Di Palma, the winner of Miss Italia 2021," tweeted Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi.
    "Pride of Scampia and of all of Naples. We await you at (city hall in) Palazzo San Giacomo".
    The closing stages of the competition were made all the more dramatic by a error in which it appeared that di Palma had been eliminated at the last-three stage, but the mistake was quickly rectified.
    Di Palma is from Scampia, a suburb of Naples with big problems with crime and poverty. (ANSA).
