(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 1 - Tito Stagno, the Italian State
broadcaster RAI reporter whose commentary on the 1969 NASA moon
landings became legendary, has died at the age of 92, his family
said Tuesday.
"It's touched down! It has touched the moon's surface in this
moment", said Stagno when the lunar module carrying Neal
Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin hit the lunar surface on July 20,
1969.
"A piece of Italian journalism history has gone," said Culture
Minister Dario Franceschini. (ANSA).
