(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 7 - Andrea Camilleri's daughters have found unpublished material in the cellar of the cult Sicilian Inspector Montalbano writer who died in July 2019 at the age of 93, sources said at the weekend.
The material includes original files, set photos, and private correspondence of the writer from Porto Empedocle who sold millions of copies worldwide and whose world-weary investigator inspired highly popular TV series also sold around the world.
The daughters, Andreina and Mariolina, told RaiNews24 that "we rediscovered a fascinating and intelligent man".
They said "Dad asked us to recover his material, but the thing that gave us the greatest joy was to find so many documents, so many writings and to be able to tell him because he was still alive when we started to find what is a veritable treasure trove".
The material will go into the new Camilleri Foundation that is being built up. (ANSA).
