(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 19 - British actress Helen Mirren has been
named the ambassador of a university in Puglia, the southern
Italian region where she and director husband Taylor Hackford
spend much of their time having bought a traditional large farm
called masseria near Lecce.
The Oscar winner will get the accolade on Thursday morning at
the Università del Salento in Lecce.

Mirren, 76, is the recipient of numerous accolades and the only
person to achieve the Triple Crown of Acting in both the US and
the UK, winning an Academy Award and a British Academy Film
Award (BAFTA) for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The
Queen, a Tony Award and a Laurence Olivier Award for the same
role in The Audience, three British Academy Television Awards
for her performance as DCI Jane Tennison in Prime Suspect, and
four Primetime Emmy Awards, including two for Prime Suspect.
