(ANSA) - Rome, September 24 - Marco Bellocchio's The Traitor will be Italy's candidate for the next best foreign-language film Oscar, the selection committee said on Tuesday.
The movie by the veteran filmmaker is the story of Tommaso Buscetta, the first big Sicilian Mafia boss to become a State witness. The Oscar nominations are set to be announced on January 13 ahead of the ceremony for the Academy Awards on February 9.
