(ANSA) - Rome, September 20 - Italian photographer and
publisher Inge Feltrinelli has died at the age of 87, sources
said on Thursday.
A naturalised Italian who was born in Germany to Jewish
parents in November 1930, she started out as a photographer and
took shots of influential figures such as Greta Garbo, John
Fitzgerald Kennedy and Winston Churchill.
She married leftwing publisher Giangiacomo Feltrinelli in
1960 and took over running his publishing house after he died in
1972 having become a clandestine militant.
A woman who wanted to change the world with books, Amos Oz
described her as "an authentic volcano of ideas, curiosity,
kindness".
