(ANSA) - Florence, January 8 - A production of Carmen in
Florence Sunday featured a plot change to protest a wave of
femicides in Italy - Carmen didn't die, but instead shot Don
José, the former lover who usually stabs her to death.
The cast got lots of applause but there were protests
against director Leo Muscato.
