Cinema takings up 6% in 2016

Holiday cinema-goers plunge due to absence of Zalone blockbuster

(ANSA) - Rome, January 17 - Takings at Italian cinemas rose 6.06% in 2016, sector group ANICA said Tuesday, but crashed 38% over the Christmas holidays due to the absence of the usual blockbuster by comic Checco Zalone.
    Zalone's latest, Quo Vado?, ended up accounting for almost 9% of last year's total takings.
