(ANSA) - Rome, November 2 - Italian actor Gigi Proietti is celebrating his 76th birthday on Wednesday with his family in Rome, and has a 'top secret' TV special in the works with for the coming year.
Proietti is coming off the success of his 10th season as director of Rome's Globe Theatre in Villa Borghese.
This year's run hosted 65,000 spectators and saw Proietti on stage in "Tribute to Shakespeare" based on "Edmund Kean", the one-man show that Raymund Fitz Simons created for Ben Kingsley.
He also had a sold-out performance at Rome's Auditorium on October 31 with his show "War Horses", a sort of career retrospective of his 50 years in the business.
The show has already been seen by more than 50,000 spectators across 18 performances, with more dates in the coming months.
But Proietti's biggest upcoming project is that of a TV special in the new year, whose details still haven't been revealed but will be broadcast in prime time on RAI 1 for three consecutive Saturday evenings.
There's also talk of Proietti's return for a third season as Bruno Palmieri, the news journalist with an infallible memory, on the TV show "Una pallottola nel cuore" (A Bullet in the Heart).
