Floating Piers may shut down at weekend

(ANSA) - Brescia, June 24 - Bulgarian artist Christo's The Floating Piers installation may shut down at the weekend due to stormy weather, source said Friday. Storms are forecast Saturday in the area of Lake Iseo, where the 4.5-kilometre walkway made up of floating pontoons formed covered in 70,000 metres of iridescent orange-yellow fabric stretches between the town of Sulzano on the edge of the lake to Monte Isola and San Paolo islands. "Adverse weather could limit or even preclude access to the work," the installation crew said.
