(ANSA) - Rome, November 18 - Giorgio Armani has dressed the world of Mikey Ross, the millionaire played by Al Pacino in the new David Mamet comedy on Broadway, China Doll.
In collaboration with Tony award-winning costume designer Jess Goldstein, Armani created clothing for Pacino in his role as Ross, who in the show is ready to give up everything for his young girlfriend until a telephone call changes his plans.
In the first act, Pacino wears a two-button shawl collar black wool tuxedo with a vest and white shirt, while in the second act he wears a blue pinstripe suit.
The printed black-and-aubergine duffle on stage is also by Armani.
Mikey Ross's assistant, played by Christopher Denham, in the first act wears a light gray wool suit with a two-button jacket and striped white shirt with a blue and brown tie, paired with a brown cashmere overcoat and a brown scarf.
In the second act, he wears a dark gray tweed jacket and gray pants, with a light gray shirt and a brown striped tie.
China Doll is the twelfth show of Al Pacino's Broadway career, which started in 1969 in 'Does Tiger Wear a Necktie?', for which he won his first Tony award.
Pacino has collaborated in the past with Armani, and was wearing a tuxedo by the Italian designer when he won the 1993 Best Actor Oscar for his performance in Scent of a Woman.
