(ANSA) - Paris, March 5 - Paris on Thursday presented its
bid to host the Universal Exposition in 2025.
ExpoFrance 2025 chief, Jean-Christopfe Fromantin, said the
French capital will be bidding to host the world's fair under
the slogan "Au coeur des territoires s'ouvre celui des homes",
or "in the heart of territories opens up that of mankind".
Fromantin said Paris was ''closely'' eyeing rival projects
presented by the Netherlands and London to host the
six-month-long world's fair and noted the city could create the
Eiffel Tower of the future if Paris were to host the event.
The tower was built for the 1889 Universal Exposition.
The 2015 edition of the world's fair is opening in Milan on
May 1 while Dubai will be hosting the fair in 2020.
Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo said last month that the French
capital is also considering whether to present a bid to host the
2024 Olympic Games, almost a century after the event was held in
the city.
