(ANSA) - Rome, October 1 - Italian Culture Minister Dario
Franceschini approved a cabinet decree Wednesday to recognise
the autonomous status of the La Scala opera house in Milan and
the Santa Cecilia classical-music academy in Rome.
Franceschini commented it was "a very important step" taken
to reward the most virtuous of Italy's opera and symphonic
foundations.
