39-year-old worker dies as digger overturns

(ANSA) - ROME, APR 23 - A 39-year-old worker died Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. in an accident at work in Laglio, on Lake Como after a digger overturned and crushed him to death, local sources said.
    The man was driving a small excavator that overturned during some excavation works in the hamlet of Torriggia, in the upstream area of the village.
    The man was crushed by the vehicle along a very narrow road, and died instantly.
    Investigations are being conducted by the Carabinieri and ATS medical personnel.
    It is the latest in a spate of fatal workplace accidents in Italy. (ANSA).
