(ANSA) - ROME, APR 18 - A 10-year-old Italian girl has given
up her First Holy Communion gifts and cash in order to fund a
social collective that runs a Lecce artisanal gelateria staffed
by Down's youngsters that offers free ice cream to the needy,
media reported Thursday.
The Lecce girl, Carolina, said she was happy to be contributing
to the new gelato with its flavour described as "social
redemption and happiness".
She has devolved all the money she would have got for her
Communion to the charitable foundation that operates the ice
cream parlous in the historic centre of the Puglia city,
Defriscu. (ANSA).
