US soldier in Gaeta critical after falling from balcony

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 22 - A US soldier stationed in the southern Lazio town of Gaeta is in critical condition in hospital after falling from a balcony during a party with fellow soldiers on Wednesday evening, the local edition of 'Il Messaggero' newspaper reported on Friday.
    The woman, aged 23, was reportedly in the company of another woman and two men when the incident occurred.
    They are said to have been drinking heavily.
    The soldier was transported with multiple fractures to the Dono Svizzero hospital in Formia before being transferred to Santa Maria Goretti in Latina when her condition deteriorated.
    She is now reportedly in intensive care. (ANSA).
