24-year-old accused of murdering two women in Sicily

Women may have been killed after rejecting advances

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 7 - A 24-year-old Romanian man has been arrested for allegedly murdering two women in their homes in the Sicilian town of Naro in the night between Thursday and Friday.
    The suspect, Omar Edgar Nedelcov, is also accused of desecrating the bodies of the victims, Delia Zarniscu, 58, and Maria Rus, 54.
    There have been reports that Nedelcov may have killed the women after they rejected his sexual advances at the end of a night of heavy drinking.
    He is set to appear on Monday before a preliminary investigations judge via video link from Gela jail.
    Italy has been hit by an alarming spate of femicides. (ANSA).
