(see related) (ANSA) - ROME, AUG 6 - The migrant hotspot on Lampedusa was packed with 2,412 people early on Sunday after the arrival of 57 survivors from two shipwrecks near the Italian island overnight.
The official capacity of the hotspot is around 400.
None of the migrants are set to be transferred to the mainland via sea on Sunday due to rough conditions in the Strait of Sicily.
