(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 4 - Around 140 cooperatives are in trouble
following last month's devastating floods in Emilia Romagna,
which claimed 15 lives and caused huge damage to the region's
economy and infrastructure, Legacoop President Simone Gamberini
said Sunday.
"As a movement, we have some 140 cooperatives in difficulty
because of the floods," said Gamberini.
"Many of our members and workers are not active and they need to
be put in a condition to get started again.
"We need sure responses and the appointment of a commissioner
(for the emergency".
He added that he considered Emilia Romagna Governor Stefano
Bonaccini to be the right person to be the emergency
commissioner. (ANSA).
