(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 29 - Former premier and leader of the opposition Five Star Movement (M5S) Giuseppe Conte said on Wednesday his party didn't support "favours for tax evaders" after the government included a shield on tax crimes in a decree helping people with their energy bills.
"We oppose all regulations that contain amnesties," said Conte.
"We do not want favors for tax evaders, but favors for citizens who are in difficulty, for citizens who have to wait a long time to access emergency medical care, for a diagnostic examination or for surgery. We want favors for citizens who have to pay a mortgage, for the frail. These are the favors we are fighting for," he added.
On Tuesday the government approved a decree including measures to support families and businesses against high bills and interventions in favour of the health sector, with a resource allocation of EUR 4.9 billion. (ANSA).
