(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 29 - Italy had 36,000 charging stations for electric vehicles at year end 2022, of which fewer than 500 on motorways, according to a study presented on Wednesday.
This compares to approximately 88,000 in Germany, of which 9,000 ultra-fast, and 83,000 in France, of which more than 3,200 ultra fast, and 34,400 in Spain. "Charging infrastructure is advancing rapidly in percentage terms, but remains slow in absolute terms," said the study prepared by the Automotive observatory and presented by the unions Fim-Cisl, Fiom-Cgil and Uilm-Uil representing workers in Italy's automotive industry.
In fact, based on a forecast of 42 million electric vehicles in Europe in 2030, Italy has 13.3 per cent coverage, behind France at 14.6% but ahead of Germany at 5.8 per cent.
Austria is in first place at 25.6 per cent. (ANSA).
