Inps: 65% of pensions below 1,000 euro

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 22 - Some 65% of the 17.7 million pensions paid out in Italy in 2023 are for less than 1,000 euro, the pensions and social security agency Inps said on Wednesday.
    Inps said 21.2% of pensions are below 500 euro, and this figure rises to 23.2% for women.
    Some 78.7% of pensions paid out to women are below 1.000 euro.
    However, total payments are often higher since they come from from multiple pension schemes.
    The figures do not include civil service pensions. (ANSA).
