(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 7 - Italian police on Tuesday arrested nine people on suspicion of committing fraud in obtaining the government's 500 euros 'culture bonus' for 18-year-olds.
The nine people under investigation by the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, on whom the Guardia di Finanza (tax police) of Naples notified warrants this morning, are allegedly involved in a fraud at the university and research ministry, specifically concerning the '18app' culture bonus.
The tax police, who are carrying out seizures and searches in Ercolano, in the province of Naples, were instructed by a preliminary investigations judge (GIP) to notify three arrests in prison, three house arrests, and four residence obligations.
Ercolano is the site of Herculaneum, the ancient Roman city buried and preserved along with Pompeii by Vesuvius in 79 AD.
