Courage needed for EU sovereign fund says Meloni

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 30 - Courage is needed for a European sovereign wealth fund to protect businesses, Premier Giorgia Meloni said after talks in Rome Monday with European Council President Charles Michel.
    "Europe must protect its companies and it must do so with courage. The Italian position means above all flexibility on existing funds," Meloni told the press after her meeting with Michel.
    "We need caution on relaxing the rules on state aid, the objective is to support businesses without risking weakening the single market.
    "We need the courage to o implement instruments such as a European sovereign wealth fund." (ANSA).
