(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 27 - Italy's COVID-19 incidence and Rt
transmission number have fallen further, according to the weekly
coronavirus monitoring report of the health ministry and the
Higher Health Institute (ISS).
It said the incidence had fallen to 65 cases for every 100,000
inhabitants, down from 88 cases in last week's report.
It said the Rt had dropped to 0.73 from 0.88.
An Rt above 1 indicates the virus is in a phase of expansion.
The report said the proportion of intensive care beds taken up
by COVID patients had fallen to 2.1% from 2.3% last week.
It said 6.4% of ordinary-ward hospital places were occupied by
coronavirus sufferers, down from 7.9%.
The report said none of Italy's regions or autonomous provinces
were classed as high risk for COVID, while only three were
moderate risk - Emilia Romagna, Liguria and Puglia - with the
rest being low risk. (ANSA).
