Emilia Romagna tops GIMBE health care ranking

(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 22 - Emilia Romagna has come top of a ranking compiled by the GIMBE medical foundation on the level of health care provided by Italy's regions.
    The report, which was based on analysis of the regions' performances in provided essential levels of care (LEA) for a wide range of factors over the 2010-2019 period, highlighted the big differences that exist between different parts of Italy in terms of health services.
    Emilia Romagna did best, meeting 93.4% of its LEA criteria.
    It was followed by Tuscany (91.3%), Veneto (89.1%), Piedmont (87.6%), Lombardy (87.4%), Umbria (85.9%), Marche (84.1%), Liguria (82.8%), Friuli Venezia-Giulia (81.5%) and Trento (78.8%).
    Sardinia came last with 56.3% The other regions at the bottom end of the ranking were Bolzano (57.6%), Campania (58.2%), Calabria (59.9%), Valle d'Aosta (63.8%) and Puglia (67.5%). (ANSA).
