(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 9 - Right-to-die activist Marco Cappato on Friday reported himself to Carabinieri police in Florence for having accompanied 44-year-old Italian multiple sclerosis sufferer named Massimiliano to a Swiss clinic to commit assisted suicide.
Two other people also reported themselves for the crime of assisting suicide after going with Massimiliano to Switzerland - the journalist Chiara Lalli and Felicetta Maltese of the Eutanasia Legale (Legal Euthanasia) campaign.
Cappato, the treasurer of right-to-die Coscioni Assocation, is currently being probed for helping several people die at the Swiss Dignitas clinic.
He is pushing for parliament to end a legislative vacuum and pass legislation on end-of-life issues. (ANSA).
