(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 6 - A group of 79 rescued asylum seekers
landed at 5am on Tuesday in the Sicilian port of Pozzallo thanks
to a joint operation by the Italian coast guard and finance
police.
The asylum seekers were part of a group of arond 400 saved by a
fishing trawler off Sicily.
Meanwhile, two more migrant boats landed on the island of
Lampedusa overnight with a combined total of 65 people on board.
On Monday 22 boats carrying a total of 764 people landed on
Lampedusa. (ANSA).
