(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 5 - The voluntary sector does work of
inestimable value" for society, President Sergio Mattarella said
on International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social
Development 2022 Monday.
"Volunteering represents an inestimable value, an expression of
solidarity based on the awareness of a destiny common to all
humanity," he said.
"Offering help to those in difficulty with altruism and
self-denial generates inclusive, robust communities based on the
protection of fundamental rights.
"The wide-ranging and spontaneous mobilisation in aid
communities affected by calamitous events bears witness to
