(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 5 - Alleged sexual abuse of nuns by a
Slovenian Jesuit priest, artist and theologian has timed out and
therefore no criminal action will be taken against him, the
Vatican's sex abuse department has said, according to a
statement from the Jesuits on Monday.
Complaints about Father Marko Rupnik were made in 2021 but the
alleged offences are covered by the statute of limitations, said
the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.
The dicastery "found that the events in question were to be
considered timed out and it therefore shelved the case, at the
beginning of October of this year," said the statement from the
Company of Jesus.
However, some precautionary measures remain in place with regard
to Rupnik, including a ban on confessing people or accompanying
spiritual exercises. (ANSA).
