(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 30 - Two security guards were injured on
Wednesday when a gang of criminals opened fire during the
robbery of an armoured cash-transport car in Sardinia.
The gang blocked the 131 'Carlo Felice' state highway in
northern Sardinia between the junctions for Thiesi and Giave and
started shooting at the security van, sources said.
A thick cloud of smoke could be seen from a distance.
Traffic has been halted in both directions of the highway, which
connects the cities of Cagliari and Sassari.
Police subsequently found the vehicle used by the gang to get
away.
The loot from the robbery was scant, the sources said. (ANSA).
