(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 30 - A member of Cosa Nostra from Gela in
Sicily who is living at Busto Arsizio north of Milan has been
placed under investigation for domestic abuse with the help of
his sisters and using mafia methods.
The 54-year-old man allegedly beat and shut his 48-year-old wife
up in their homes with the help of his sisters and his mother,
between Gela and Busto Arsizio, starting in 2003, judicial
sources said.
He also allegedly threatened her friends and acquaintances.
The woman has been placed in witness protection and is helping
police with their inquiries into Cosa Nostra and its northern
ramifications.
Prosecutors have asked a Milan judge to send the man to trial
for his alleged abuse. (ANSA).
