(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 28 - Italy registered 229,122 COVID-19
cases in the November 18-24 period, a 10% increase on the
208,346 recorded the previous week, the GIMBE medical foundation
said in its regular coronavirus monitoring report on Monday.
It said COVID-lined deaths rose 8.8% in the period in question
to 580.
GIMBE said the number of coronavirus patients in ordinary
hospital wards increased by 9.1% to 7.613 and the number in
intensive care was up 1.2% to 250.
The foundation said there were "serious and inexplicable delays"
in relation to communication for the campaign to get people to
have a fourth dose of a COVID vaccine.
It said that almost three out of four people in Italy have not
had a fourth dose. (ANSA).
