(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 28 - Italy registered 229,122 COVID-19 cases in the November 18-24 period, a 10% increase on the 208,346 recorded the previous week, the GIMBE medical foundation said in its regular coronavirus monitoring report on Monday.
It said COVID-lined deaths rose 8.8% in the period in question to 580.
GIMBE said the number of coronavirus patients in ordinary hospital wards increased by 9.1% to 7.613 and the number in intensive care was up 1.2% to 250. The foundation said there were "serious and inexplicable delays" in relation to communication for the campaign to get people to have a fourth dose of a COVID vaccine.
It said that almost three out of four people in Italy have not had a fourth dose. (ANSA).
