(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 16 - Protesters from the Ultima Generazione group on Wednesday sprayed orange paint over the walls at the entrance to the Rome headquarters of State lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) as part of a series controversial actions aimed at highlighting the need to address the climate crisis.
The protestors then glued themselves to the entrance with a banner reading 'no gas, no coal'.
"I'm fed up of the money of the citizens of my country, the years of savings of families like mine, the efforts of female and male workers, literally being thrown away in projects supporting fossil fuels," said David, one of the protestors.
"With its capital CDP, which is 80% controlled by the State, enables big polluters such as ENI, SNAM and SAIPEM to continue to invest in gas, oil and coal in Italy and abroad.
"As the International Energy Agency says, every euro invested in fossil-fuel sources is invested in the death of people, in the destruction of my future and that of the generation I belong to". (ANSA).
