Restaurateur dies of heart attack after attempted robbery

'Foreigner' demanded alcohol and cigarettes at Torre del Lago

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 11 - A 64-year-old Italian restaurateur died of a heart attack after an attempted robbery in his restaurant near Lucca late Thursday night, sources said Friday.
    The incident took place at Torre del Lago, the location for the annual Puccini Opera Festival.
    According to what was established by the Carabinieri, in the restaurant that the man managed with a partner, around 11:40 pm Thursday a 33-year-old foreign man, in an extreme state of agitation, threatened the owners demanding that they serve him alcohol and give him cigarettes.
    He allegedly wounded one of the owners in the hand with a wooden stake.
    The restaurateur was taken to hospital where he died of a heart attack.
    The victim was named as Alberto Biancalana, owner together with a partner of the Elefante Marino Restaurant in Viale Europa, on the seafront at Torre del Lago. (ANSA).
