(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 14 - Italy's COVID-19 Rt transmission number and case incidence have increased further, the weekly coronavirus monitoring report of the health ministry and the Higher Health Commission (ISS) said Friday.
It said the Rt number had risen to 1.30, up from 1.18 in last week's report.
An Rt above 1 indicates that the virus is in a phase of expansion.

The report said 10% of ordinary-ward hospital beds were taken up by coronavirus patients, up from 8.2% last week.
It said the number of regions/autonomous provinces where the ordinary-ward COVID occupation rate was over the alert threshold of 15% had risen from four to six.
They are: Calabria (16%), Friuli Venezia Giulia (17,.%), province of Bolzano (23.6%), province of Trento (17.2%), Umbria (26.6%) and Valle d'Aosta, which has the highest rate at 56.7%.
