(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 19 - An eight-year-old boy and his three-year-old sister with retinal dystrophy have recovered their sight thanks to a genetic therapy conducted by doctors in Italy.
The interventions were done thanks to a collaboration between Rome Gemelli hospital's IRCCS eye foundation and the Bambino Gesù children's hospital as part of a project launched in 2021.
The girl is the youngest patient in Italy to have regained her sight with this treatment. (ANSA).
